The CLYC Memorial Race was held on 4/9/11. Three boats entered the race. They were “Endorphin” skippered by Jay Butler with a crew of Norm Balintfy and Pat Fitzgerald, “Lady” skippered by Wayne Ingersoll with a crew of Doug Doscher and Dan MacDonald and “EZ-Pass” skippered by Leo Zimmermann with a crew of Bill Lake and Shirley Hanberry. Ed Mann used his boat for the committee boat assisted by Gene Alligood and Lee Shaffer.
Lady lead at the start, with EZ-Pass and Endorphine close behind. Lady was first around the GOAL POSTS, followed by EZ-Pass and Endorphine. EZ-Pass overtook Lady halfway up the leg and rounded RED 12 first, closely followed by Lady and Endorphine. EZ-Pass began to open her lead and was first around RED 10, followed by Lady and Endorphine. EZ-Pass headed back to the GOAL POSTS under variable winds, but continued to open her lead. EZ-Pass slowly crossed the finish line first with a large 50 minute lead. Lady finally found a little breeze and slowly opened her lead over Endorphine. Lady glided across the finish line as did Endorphine 10 minutes later. The order of finish was EZ-Pass, Lady and Endorphine.
