It was hot, hot, hot
with temps in the 90s, over 100 members came out and braved the heat for our
first “Payback” Party. It was a huge success with the non-boat owners
providing wonderful food and drinks for their fellow Yacht Club members.
Let’s give a big thanks to Jim & Kay Ellis, Bob & Arlene Hill, Roy & Peg
Gerritsen, Rod & Nancy Stem, Bruce & Beverly Billings, Ken & Joan
Fairchild, Ed & Dee Noll, Jerry and Wilma Collins, Dick & Sharon Bachman,
Warren & Mary Webster, Ray & Alberta Paris, Dan & Donna Wagner and Dick &
Rose Fitzgerald who sent food even though they couldn’t attend.

& Marsha Stasch, Dave & Pat Wheelock, Lou & Val Coggia and Don & Ann Martin
who loaned us awnings which provided some small relief from the heat for our
hosts and their lovely food.

we had some lovely monogrammed items to raffle off, and 2 stadium blankets,
2 baseball caps, 2 tee shirts & two tote bags quickly acquired owners. Bill
Musor provided us with background music though no-one felt inclined to dance
due to the heat! It was so hot, we could have had a wet tee-shirt contest
without even going in the water and I’m thrilled to say, no-one fell in!!
Jamey Ross did an
outstanding job of chairing this event and not a thing fell through the
cracks.
We’ll definitely make
this an annual event but we’ll move it to a “cooler” time of the year,
speaking of which, mark your calendars for September 18th when
Docks A, B & C will be hard pressed to outdo the non-boaters! Now there’s
an interesting challenge.
