Letter to the Yacht Club for 2008
The Cypress Landing Yacht Club is, according to the
Bylaws…
“an organization
of people with a common interest in recreational boating who join together
to participate in and enjoy the fellowship associated with boating, and to
represent and protect the interest of boaters within the Cypress Landing
community. The Club is organized to provide the opportunities and
facilities for the membership to achieve the following objectives:
- Social
- Recreational
- Community
Outreach
- CLHOA Liaison
- Educational
- Liaison with the
Cypress Landing Marina Association
This
year we will continue to try to improve the Clubs performance in each of
these areas. The Social Committee has laid out a fun packed schedule of
events, with something happening each month.
On the recreational boating side, we will publish
the activities of our three boating groups, the 20 Something, the Turtles,
and the Whippersnappers. We will also support a Kayaker’s group. By doing
this we hope that you will find a spot within these groups to participate
in on water activities.
The Club will be active in supporting the community
as it relates to the water. This year the club will support the Girl
Scouts, the Pamlico Sail and Power Squadron and we will help organize the
annual Washington Christmas Flotilla.
Our Education Committee will again provide you with
a strong program designed to enrich your boating experience.
Lastly, we will communicate with you on a regular
basis so that you are aware of all the activities. We hope that you become
an active participant and volunteer to help in areas you find interesting.
